The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) provides a solid introduction to the principles of best practice project management and provides the quickest route to your first formally recognised professional project management qualification. Typically delivered over 2-days (classroom or remote live) this course is ideal for organisations looking to invest in practical training to increase project success rates. We typically customise this course to align with your PPM Delivery Framework, governance and processes. Those looking for the next level would chose the 5-day APM Project Management Qualification.

The course content is based on the Association for Project Management (APM) Body of Knowledge (v7). We are also passionate about the practical application of best practice, our courses emphasise how you can apply APM best practice in real-world situations, from better planning to team leadership, risk management and stakeholder engagement.

Assessment & Certification

The APM Project Fundamentals Qualification is very popular with our clients and often forms part of a customised 2 or 3-day course. Almost all candidates we put forward for the exam pass and our pass rate is significantly above average at 97%. The APM exam fee is £165.

This qualification is ideal for anyone looking to gain professional recognition of their project management knowledge, whether they are new to the role or have years of experience. We deliver this course with a keen eye for practical application of tools and techniques; from building a plan to assessing risks and engaging stakeholders.

Frequently Asked Questions

When do we get our results?2022-02-09T14:09:59+00:00

Each candidate receives their results directly via email from the APM. They also send the full results of each exam to us and we share this with the appropriate L&D/HR contact in your organisation. Results can take up to 2 weeks.

How do candidates sit the exam?2022-02-09T14:36:05+00:00

All exams are undertaken online, whether the course is in person or remote-live. Wellingtone is authorised to invigilate PFQ. For online exams, this requires delegates to join a Teams or Zoom call on their mobile device so they can be monitored whilst undertaking the exam on their laptop. The process works well and we have completed hundreds of exams for many different organisations.

How are candidates registered for the exam?2022-02-09T14:36:15+00:00

We’ll do this for you. As an APM Accredited Training Provider, we will register your delegates for the exam a couple of weeks ahead of the exam date.  We’ll send each delegate login details and their candidate code on the day of the exam. Please note once a candidate is registered with the APM then the exam fee is payable, whether they sit the exam or not.

What happens if delegates don’t pass the exam?2022-02-09T14:07:54+00:00

APM exams are either simply “pass” or “fail” based on a clear pass mark requirement.  Don’t worry if a delegate fails the exam, they can retake it at a reduced re-sit APM exam fee as many times as they like. If we are delivering a set of courses re-take delegates are welcome to join a future course or join a future exam sitting at no cost (excluding APM exam fee).

If we have completed all training for your organisation we are happy to invigilate a further re-sit exam at no additional cost or deliver a ½ day revision and exam at a discounted price.
