Our Approach

The MOD’s Enhanced Learning Credits (ELC) Scheme promotes lifelong learning amongst members of the Armed Forces. Providing financial support in each of a maximum of three separate financial years, the scheme enables higher level learning of a nationally recognised qualification at Level 3 or above (or approved international equivalent) with an approved Learning Provider. It is administered on the Enhanced Learning Credits Administration Service (ELCAS).

Wellingtone is an approved Learning Provider for project management qualifications, including the APM Project Fundamentals Qualification (PFQ) and the APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) Participants of the ELC scheme can undertake these qualifications through our public training schedule. What is the ELC scheme?

For serving or recently leavers of the UK Armed Forces, the ELC scheme covers 80% of course costs. This is up to £3,000 depending on length of service.

Payments can be made directly to Wellingtone with a credit/debit card. Contact us if you need to do this or a different form of payment.

We need to receive the CAN form and the delegate contribution 4 weeks before the start of the course.

What if I need to cancel my attendance?

Please contact us as soon as possible. We offer a variety of dates, so we will try to accommodate moving you to another course if we can. You can cancel anytime up to 28 days before the course and request a full refund. More than 14 days before your course date you can postpone to a future date without charge. Sorry, but no-shows or cancellations within 14 days are not entitled to a refund, as it’s too late for us to fill your space, and you will have been registered for the exam with the APM.

Am I eligible for ELC?

Before being eligible to make an ELC claim, individual scheme members must have completed not less than six years of eligible service (lower tier). If you have completed 4 years of qualifying service before 1st April 2017, please read JSP 822. Only service accumulated since 1st April 2000 may be counted as eligible service for the purpose of the ELC Scheme.

You are entitled to make three ELC claims in total. You can only make one claim per financial year (1 April- 31 March); however, if you have served between 6 and 8 years, you may be eligible to aggregate all three lower-tier claims together, subject to meeting the qualifying criteria in JSP 822

If you are in your qualifying resettlement phase, you may be eligible to claim under the Joint Funding Initiative (PF FE/HE Scheme).
